January is an odd month with the post Christmas blues and everyone back to work It's a month not a lot of people look forward to. But it's a great month for them bargain buys for all the birthdays to come throughout the year and also a great time to prepare well in advance for next Christmas. There is nothing more annoying to me than seeing the wrapping paper I paid £3 a roll for go on sale for 25p a day after Christmas, so from now on I always buy ahead. You can get all your wrapping paper, gift tags and other wrapping essentials for the fraction of the RRP. January also offers a lot of sales on Christmas gift, gift sets, toy and more, but some of them don't come in Christmas themed packaging so they're the ones perfect to buy in advance for family and friends birthdays throughout the year!
I was always someone to buy in the needed moment and never think about tomorrow, after having my daughter a year ago, I started thinking about ways to save money but still be in a position to get my loved ones special gifts on their birthdays. I took this way of thinking into everything, It started off with just wrapping paper and soon I was hooked on finding a great deal, now I hardly ever pay full price for anything. Clothes, toys, books, games, food, anything you can think of I can get it at a discounted price.
Be able to save money has enabled me to think about my wedding and really start putting my plans into action. It's also enabled for me and my family to go on holiday, move into a larger house and afford special days out, don't worry these too aren't full priced either!
One of the first things everyone should do is get a budget planner for the year, go through it month by month and write all the outgoings and really work out how much you have to spend every month. I bought a budget planner from Wilkinsons for £3 and it's great, It really helps me keep track of my outgoings and income. Another great thing to do is to shop around, you might like sticking to that one supermarket or that one clothing store but shopping around can save you a lot of money, websites such as mysupermarket.com will compare your grocery shopping with other supermarkets and really show you where the best place to shop is. Make sure you do this for every grocery shop as deals are forever changing.
Checking for coupons or vouchers has now become easier than ever and google search really is your friend, there are so many sites that will offer you vouchers or cashback and you don't even need to sign up to most of them, you can save on average 25% every shop.
